As a Senior Service Engineer, you're the technical link between the system and the customer. You install and commission machines on site at the customer's location. You configure and test them, and run the functional acceptance tests together with the customer. Once a system is running, you make sure it keeps running. You carry out preventive and corrective maintenance and trace faults across mechanical, electrical and control systems. Not every problem gets solved on site: you also support customers by phone and remotely. Within your own team, you're the expert people turn to. You support production and engineering with your hands-on knowledge and mentor junior engineers. You work largely independently, often on complex system-level issues. That takes patience and a systematic approach, because guesswork doesn't cut it here. You document your work carefully and advise customers on optimisation. You work day shifts, 40 hours a week, and regularly travel to customer sites.
